CHILDREN LEARN WHAT THEY LIVE

If children live with criticism, They learn to condemn.

If children live with hostility, They learn to fight.

If children live with ridicule, They learn to be shy.

If children live with shame, They learn to feel guilty.

If children live with tolerance, They learn to be patient.

If children live with encouragement, They learn confidence.

If children live with praise, They learn to appreciate.

If children live with fairness, They learn justice.

If children live with security, They learn to have faith.

If children live with approval, They learn to like themselves.

If children live with acceptance and friendship, They learn to find love in the world.

My name is Kewa White.  I am a teacher at Lee Road Head Start Center.  I have been teaching pre-school for 11 years.  I was born in Waycross, Georgia on October 20.  Teaching is my life.  I love children and I love teaching children.  I have three children of my own, ages 12, 10, and 9.  I have an open door policy to all my parents.  I can be reached at the school between the hours of 7:30a.m.-3:30p.m.(904-724-8319) For the parents that work late, I can be reached at home up until 10:00p.m.(904-696-8899)  If you would like to e-mail me, my e-mail address is:  kiwifruit1020@aol.com.  I check my e-mail everyday after 6:00p.m.

Now I would like to welcome all my students and their parents to my class, where learning starts on day one! We will be having lots of fun as well as LEARNING!  This year we will be focusing on getting our children ready for Kindergarten.  Parents I am asking that while I am teaching your child and he/she is learning, please enforce all work that is sent home.  Parents we will also be introducing the basic skills to enhance learning on the computer.  We will visit various web sites through out the year and I strongly encourage you as parents to enforce these skills at home if you have a computer in your home.  If not, the public library has computers that your child may use.  I am looking forward to a great year!  My Motto:  "Our Future Will Be So Bright, We Will Need To Wear Shades".

Here are a few  of My  Favorite Web Sites for children:

A Teacher's Prayer

I want to teach my students how to live this life on earth

To face its struggles and its strife

And to improve their worth

Not just the lesson in a book

Or how the river flows

But how to choose the proper path

Wherever they may go

To understand eternal truth and to know

The right things to do

And gather all the beauty of a flower and a song

For if I help the world to in wisdom and in grace

Then I shall feel that I have won

And I have filled my place

And so I ask your guidance, God

That I may do my part

For character and confidence

And happiness at heart
